John McCain publicly asked RNC conventioneers to cut back on the partying while their fellow citizens deal with Hurricane Gustav. How's that working out?
You get the feeling nobody in GOP politics really gives a damn about McCain. He's just the front man, the guy they hope will let them keep their noses in the trough. He can do his thing, they're going to do theirs.

One of the smartest sites I examine. Thanks for getting back to it. Hope things are looking optimistic.
The Republican party as presently constituted--as though in a bubble beneath the sea--is, hopefully, on a path that will lead to ruin. We desperately need counter opinions and options in this country but it would be best if all sides gave serious thought to the people before it is too late.
I don't think of ABC as being serious about things but that was pretty sly.
