Going on vacation in the Keweenah Peninsula of Michigan through next week. Posts will be sporadic, at best. Talk among yourselves, and I'll see you when we get back.
The Keweenaw! Heaven on earth! Enjoy yourself, Jon. You deserve it. Be sure to stop at Victoria's Kitchen.

Here's some laughable outrage during Jonathan's absence:
The New Lundberg survey: how out of touch are we?

The Keweenah was gorgeous -- Houghton-Hancock, Eagle Harbor, Copper Harbor, Bete de Gris -- then we did more camping in the Nicolet National Forest outside of Eagle River, WI -- lots of loons and a few bald eagles.
Dave, we did stop at Victoria's Kitchen. We happened to run across it when looking at Google Maps before we left, saw the enthusiastic customer reviews and made a point of stopping in. A sign of the times: a tiny, little one-woman operation shows up in Google's database and a couple of visitors from out-of-state find their way to her door. Great homemade food at bargain prices, and the very epitome of a locally-owned business.
For most of the trip, we were out of cell phone range, let alone Internet. A nice respite.
