Fair And Balanced Media

FOX News internal memo posted at HuffPo:

The elections and Rumsfeld's resignation were a major event, but not the end of the world. The war on terror goes on without interruption...And let's be on the lookout for any statements from the Iraqi insurgents, who must be thrilled at the prospect of a Dem-controlled congress. [...]

Just because the Dems won, the war on terror isn't over.

Shorter version: the election/Rumsfeld was a bummer, but cheer up, people: we still got our war!

Pardon me while I retch.

In other FOX related news, conservative radio is up in arms about FOX's O.J. "confession" sensationalism. With any luck, that will help drive more people away from "When-Animals-Attack News" (as my buddy calls it)

When you kick the U.S. when it's down, this becomes much more than Dirty Laundry.

Another line in that memo which I think was significant was this:

"The question of the day, and indeed for the rest of bush's [sic] term, is: What's the Dem plan for Iraq?"

Just consider that the question was a GOPper talking point during the campaign and now it's to be "the question of the day" for the next two years at Fox - you'll pardon the expression - "News" and you'll know all you need to know about what counts as "fair and balanced" in their corporate mind.

BTW: Doesn't the memo thus also assume that US forces will still be in Iraq two years from now?
