Koufax Awards Voting Ends Tonight

Just a friendly reminder that voting for the 2005 Koufax Awards ends tonight at midnight.

The Koufax Awards are named for Sandy Koufax, one of the greatest left-handed baseball pitchers of all time. They honor the best of the left-wing blogs, in a variety of categories.

PastPeak was nominated in two categories, Best Writing and Most Deserving of Wider Recognition. The page with links to all categories is here.

The way it works is you cast your votes in the comments section of the page for a category (scroll down to the bottom of the page). If you cast a vote in one category, you have to wait a few minutes before you can cast a vote in another category.

Check out the lists of nominated blogs; it's a great way to expand your horizons. And if you're so inclined, you might vote for PastPeak in the categories mentioned above. Gumpa and I would be grateful.

Jonathan, I've been looking at the competition and it is clear that you will need to get a cute endearing pet if you ever hope to win this thing. Creek Running North has a dog and a bunny. Stiff competition there. Now I have a dog that you can have cheap (ok free.) She's got a few years on her and she barks her fool head off when she's not farting like she is now but she takes a good picture. (still not sold. I'll throw in a chew toy and a bag of food. That's my last offer!) Think about it.

LOL! Having met the pooch in question, I'm afraid I must pass. You made that particular bed and must now lie in it. If only you had a pink pony...

And don't even think of dying Molly pink and dressing her up as a pony. I can't be fooled: ponies don't hurl themselves against the patio door whenever a bunny appears on the lawn outside.

In her defense I'd like to say that we have never once been attacked by vicious bunnies in our yard. Bunnies have big teeth you know.

Why doesn't anyone remember her campaign to befriend the bunnies. Like the time she treated several of them to a fun game of toss the bunny in the air. Granted there were no survivors but it's the intention that counts.

Okay, maybe she's not the most endearing pet perhaps I can interest you in a....ummmm...let's see a purple unicorn. Yes, everyone likes unicorns even when they fart. A word of caution about the unicorn though....never say El Gato around it.
